 SOMETHING ILLUSTRATED, EDINBURGH

The musical chemistry the members of Something Illustrated has developed over the many years of playing in different combinations before the band finally forming in late 2010. The bands music aims to combine the musical technicality of genres such as metal, prog and jazz with catchy melodies and lyrical themes more commonly associated with pop and pop/rock .

Something Illustrated is comprised of lead vocalist, pianist and guitarist Jamie Pettinger, guitarists and backing vocalists Patrick Jamieson and Andro Sneddon, bassist and backing vocalist Sam Bradley and drummer Joe Roberts. The Edinburgh based 5 piece band have been playing live since early 2011 and since the release of the debut EP “The Space In Between Us”, hope to have more opportunities on the stage.

The EP, “The Space In Between Us” strives to span through the wide array of influences that the band take, ranging from the heavily progressive elements of Head.Heart.Hands. to the more traditional appeal of songs such as Sky, and even influences of dance music in Our Song.

OUR REVIEW OF "THE SPACE IN BETWEEN US"

For a band who've been together barely a year and appear to have the combined age of a single Rolling Stone, Something Illustrated's debut EP is a work of exceptional maturity and musicianship.

Each hook and breakdown is good enought to merit an entire song, each track, a mini-album. Just as you feel the faintest hint of a formula, the variables are changed, the listener off in an unexpected, thrilling direction, destination unknown.

If this is the future of Pop Rock then there is hope for us all!

Something Illustrated this way comes!
